Quarter Head Highlight

£60 – £80
30 mins

A quarter head highlight is a targeted highlight service that adds lightness and dimension through key areas, without committing to a full head of foils. It’s ideal when you want a subtle refresh, a little extra brightness around the face, or a tidy-up that keeps your colour looking polished between bigger appointments.

More information

What a quarter head highlight covers

This service focuses on strategic placement for maximum impact with minimal upkeep.

  • Targeted foils through the top section and hairline for visible brightness
  • Softer blend through regrowth to keep your colour looking fresh
  • Added dimension and movement, especially when worn down or in a parting
  • A lighter, more natural-looking lift than full head highlights
  • Can be tailored for curls, coils, and textured hair to enhance shape and definition

When a quarter head highlight is the best choice

Choose this if you want a quick, noticeable update that still reads natural.

  • You already have highlights and want to keep them looking clean and bright
  • You want a subtle lift rather than a bold transformation
  • You prefer low maintenance colour with a softer grow-out
  • You want to brighten the hairline and top without lightening everywhere

What happens during the appointment

We start with a quick consultation to agree placement, brightness, and how it should grow out. Foils are placed through selected sections, then processed to the right level of lift before rinsing and finishing. If you want a more refined tone, ask about adding a toner or gloss to perfect the shade.

Aftercare and how to keep it looking good

Use colour-safe shampoo and conditioner and add regular moisture if your hair is curly or textured. A purple shampoo can help if your hair lifts warm, but use it sparingly to avoid dullness. Most people book a maintenance refresh every 6 to 10 weeks, depending on contrast and how fast their hair grows.

Frequently Asked Questions

What areas are highlighted in a quarter head highlight?
A quarter head highlight focuses on key sections, usually through the top and around the hairline. Placement is adjusted to suit your parting, style, and how you wear your hair.
Will a quarter head highlight look natural?
Yes, it is designed for soft brightness and dimension rather than an all-over change. The level of contrast can be kept subtle or made a bit brighter, depending on your goal.
Is this service suitable for curly, coily, or Afro textured hair?
Yes, it can be tailored to curls, coils, and textured patterns with careful placement. The aim is to enhance definition and shape while keeping the finish balanced and wearable.
Do I need a toner with quarter head highlights?
Not always, but toning can refine the shade after lightening, especially if you want a cooler or more blended result. If your hair tends to lift warm, a toner or gloss can make the finish look more polished.
How often should I book a quarter head highlight?
Many clients refresh every 6 to 10 weeks to keep brightness through the top and hairline. If you prefer a softer grow-out, you may be able to leave it longer between appointments.
